The Green Man

Filed under: Weekly Update of Work — Franny @ 10:35 am

I recently completed the Green Man mask.  It was an interesting project.  I wanted him to look wise and yet not too serious .  I decided to use coloured stain to highlight his face. The Green Man

Spirit Frog II

Filed under: Weekly Update of Work — Franny @ 8:47 am

As you can see I am completing some projects that this past early winter had put to a sudden halt. I began this project last year and I am happy to see it completed. This frog is the second one I have done for these clients. I really enjoy the height of this piece – it gives it a huge presence. Spirit Frog II

Stain Glass Fairies

Filed under: Weekly Update of Work — Franny @ 9:23 am

After a long winter I finally attached the stain glass fairy wings to some carvings I did last summer. The stain glass was done by Blue Crawford. I was very pleased with the outcome.

Mother Earth update

Filed under: Weekly Update of Work — Franny @ 9:07 am

Mother Earth 3 I delivered the Mother Earth sculpture to the spectacular log home and was somewhat disappointed to see where it was going to hang. I assumed it was going to be above the fireplace, but it seems to be situated very close to the ceiling. The picture I am including was on the fly, so the quality is not very impressive.

Mother Earth

Filed under: Weekly Update of Work — Franny @ 11:15 pm

I am presently working on mantlepiece that has been incorporated into a magnificent log home. This sculpture is entitled, “Mother Nature”.  On either end I have carved a raven which fiercely protects her energy.  In one hand she holds the  sun and in the other the moon, both of which will be blown glass and installed.   In the background one sees forests, the earth, the essence of what she is protecting.  I am very pleased with how this piece has evolved so naturally.
